CMES has now launched the Regional Outlook Series in Arabic, making expert analyses on the MENA region more accessible to a wider audience.

The Centre for Advanced Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) is delighted to announce that our Regional Outlook Series is now available in Arabic, with translations by Rafah Barhoum, Language Training Expert at CMES. This initiative aims to broaden the reach of our in-depth analyses on topical developments in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The Regional Outlook Series draws on the multi-disciplinary expertise of CMES researchers to provide comprehensive insights into various topical subjects, including:

  • The Fall of the Assad Regime: Challenges and Opportunities for Rojava – CMES Researcher Pinar Dinc analyzes recent political developments in Syria and their implications for Rojava.
  • Any Prospect for Peace Activism? – CMES Researcher Lisa Strömbom examines the potential for Israeli and Palestinian peace activism and how solidarity groups adapt their methods during times of pressure.
  • The Jordanian Parliamentary Elections – CMES Researcher Adam Almqvist provides an analysis of the 2024 Jordanian parliamentary elections, their political consequences, and how they were affected by the War in Gaza.
