Exploring Arabic Culture Through Food at CMES

Arabic event

Last week, CMES hosted an interactive event where Arabic language students explored food traditions while expanding their vocabulary and cultural knowledge.

On 27 February, CMES organized a cultural and educational event for students enrolled in the Arabic language courses, offering a hands-on experience with Arabic food and dining traditions.

During the gathering, students prepared and enjoyed a variety of light Arabic dishes, including fava beans, chickpeas, labneh, olives, pita bread, and fresh vegetables. To enhance language learning, vocabulary cards were placed next to each item, helping participants expand their knowledge of food-related Arabic terms. They also explored dining etiquette in Arab cultures, making the experience both engaging and educational.

The event was organized by Rafah Barhoum, language training expert and responsible for the Arabic language courses at CMES.
