625 people gathered at Lund City Library for a highly anticipated CMES lecture by Cecilia Uddén, Middle East correspondent for Swedish Radio.

On 6 March, CMES, in collaboration with Lund City Library, hosted a public lecture with award-winning journalist Cecilia Uddén, Middle East Correspondent for Swedish Radio. Part of the CMES Research Seminar Series, the event focused on the latest political developments in the Middle East.

The evening began with a welcome from CMES Director Karin Aggestam, followed by 40 minutes of storytelling from Cecilia Uddén about her experiences reporting from the region. With a particular focus on the war in Gaza, she shared stories from both sides of the conflict, offering insight into the human realities behind the headlines.

The venue was packed, with a diverse audience of researchers, students, and members of the public of all ages. The event concluded with a Q&A session, sparking discussions on the challenges of reporting from conflict zones and the future of the Middle East as a region.
