Arabic Language Courses

Fall Semester 2026

The Centre for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) offers three Arabic language courses during the Fall Semester 2026:
-A1 – Modern Standard Arabic (Beginners)
-A2 – Modern Standard Arabic (Beginners)
-B1 – Intermediate Modern Standard Arabic

These courses are exclusively available to Lund University students and staff who are interested in working, conducting fieldwork, or carrying out research in Arabic-speaking countries.

The courses provide participants with practical linguistic skills and essential cultural knowledge relevant to academic and professional contexts. Students will develop reading and writing skills in Arabic and learn to use the language in everyday situations. In addition to Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), the courses introduce participants to key cultural practices and traditions across the Arabic-speaking world.
