Reading Course on the Israel-Palestine Conflict
This is a reading course on the Israel-Palestine conflict offered free of charge for Lund University staff and students during the 2024 spring semester at CMES.
Course Description
The reading course introduces and elaborates on various perspectives on the Israel-Palestine conflict, focusing on (1) the history and causes of the conflict, (2) the Middle East peace process and its collapse (3) mechanisms for conflict resolution and various visions of peace.
For each lecture, there will be assigned readings, which all course participants are expected to read and discuss.
The course runs between 15 March and 31 May 2024 with one weekly meeting (combining lecture and group discussion) at CMES, Finngatan 16. The final meeting will be combined with a lunch of Middle Eastern cuisines.
- The language of instruction is English.
- Number of students: 25
- No credits will be awarded, but participants who have attended at least 8 meetings will receive a course certificate upon completion of the course.

- your full name; and
- your motivation for applying (no more than 50 words).
- If you are a student at Lund University, please include your date of birth and the name of the course/program you are studying.
- If you are employed at Lund University, please include your LUCAT id and place of work. If your application is successful, you will receive additional information before the course commences.
