We are looking for a historian holding a doctoral degree and specialising in Middle Eastern history who is at the beginning of their career. This is a 4 year fixed-term position.
The successful candidate will divide their time between The Centre for Advanced Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) and the Department of History. The Department of History has three divisions: History, Human Rights Studies and East and South-East Asian Studies. The position is in the History division.
CMES supports, coordinates and expands interdisciplinary research on the Middle East at Lund University. The position is linked to the strategic research area The Middle East in the Contemporary World (MECW). The research area includes more than 30 researchers from four different faculties at Lund University and is coordinated by CMES.
Qualifications
You hold a doctoral degree or have corresponding research expertise in history that is of value in view of the subject matter of the position and the duties that it will involve. We will primarily prioritise those applicants who have been awarded a doctoral degree after 18 May 2018.
